  Babies born prematurely do require intensive or semi intensive care in hospital. However, if it is possible, preterm infants can also be treated at home. One thing to remember for the parents is to ensure the baby’s body temperature to keep warm, because premature babies are prone to hypothermia because their skin is still very thin. That is why premature babies are placed in an incubator at the hospital.

• Natural Incubator for Premature Birth

  Incubator is not the only one solution for the treatment of premature infants or babies with low birth weight. Putting a baby on the mother’s and father’s naked breasts can also be a natural incubator. Such treatment is called a skin to skin care, or a Kangaroo Method. It surely still needs adaptation, but it can be trained and expected to have positive impact to the baby.
